How much are you worth?

My friend John reminded me of the following line from the song, "O, Holy Night:"
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
and the soul felt its worth.
Not, "...and the soul felt its sin." Not, "and the soul felt its shame." (Though one can feel such things when one doesn't know how deeply he is loved.)
Rather, "...and the soul felt its worth."
By, "worth," we can never simply mean that we are useful to God. Rather, we must know that we are wildly desired, treasured, fought for.
Delighted in.
"...and the soul felt its worth."

Hi Jim,
Thanks for reminding us of this. I remember when I was a little girl and my mother taught me about God and I know that God was very present with me even then. I had an unshakable innate knowledge that I was valued and loved by God. It wasn't until I became an adult and entered a fundamentalist church that I doubted it. It has taken me a while to get that back.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you for all you do to set human hearts free from ugly teachings and lies of the enemy.
